Improving Sleep Quality with Hypnosis There are several ways people can experience serious sleep challenges. You may experience strong anxiety and find yourself lying awake for hours before you finally drift into a brief and fitful sleep. Some people are able to fall quickly asleep, only to find themselves awakening during the night, anxious and stressful. Their minds filled with worrying thoughts, they toss and turn restlessly until the break of day. Others may drift in and out of sleep throughout the night, failing to get the proper rest they need, finally waking up in the morning exhausted. Much of the time sleep challenges are caused by the way you are thinking, as you "try" to get to sleep. Often you are dwelling upon some upsetting incident or situation, real or imagined, past, present, or future. Some people even feel overwhelmed by the thoughts racing through their mind. You intend to get a good night’s rest, but troubling thoughts and feelings flood your mind and keep you worried, anxious or depressed, and you eventually feel doomed to face another sleepless night The Effects of Poor Quality Sleep People suffering from sleep challenges can end up suffering very significant impairment of their lives, with poor daytime functioning and reduced well-being. Among the particular problems you might experience are: more difficulty concentrating, poor memory, problems coping with any problem situations and even minor irritations that might come up, inability to accomplish needed tasks, and reduced ability to fully enjoy social and family relations. In general, not getting proper rest leaves you tired, anxious and feeling emotionally unstable. Why Sleeping Pills Are Not the Answer Sleeping pills will put you to sleep but they also inhibit deep sleep and REM dreaming periods, seriously reducing the quality of the sleep. Furthermore, the body develops a tolerance to them, necessitating larger and larger doses, so they are an extremely unwise way to try to remedy the problem. Restoring Natural Sleep with Hypnosis Sleeping is a natural process, you aren't supposed to "try" to fall asleep, you're supposed to just do it. We are all born with a natural ability to fall asleep easily, so ending sleep challenges with hypnosis will be returning you to the more natural life that you were meant to experience. The response of interfering with your sleep may have once been helpful and perhaps necessary in the past; however, it is neither necessary nor helpful to you now. Through hypnosis you will accomplish several important things. You will come to have a better understanding of how and why that pattern was created in the first place. Your subconscious mind will release and let go of any negative thoughts and behaviors associated with your challenges. You will have made a new decision that it is safe to rest and sleep peacefully and restfully. The subconscious levels of your mind will realize that the old sleep behavior known as sleep deprivation is unnecessary because you will now be handling situations and circumstances differently. You will be enabled to release any negative sleep conditioning and reclaim your natural ability to sleep and rest comfortably and peacefully. Each and every time you lie down to sleep you will know that sleep is a natural state that allows your body and mind to be renewed and refreshed, and welcome it into your evening. You will be able to utilize the fact that you were born with the ability to sleep anytime that you need to sleep. You will have restored your natural ability to go to sleep easily and quickly, peacefully and comfortably.
